At the beginning of the game, the protagonist, unaware of anything, enters the elevator in SherriSoda Tower and contemplates his responsibilities as a manager of the Cook, Serve, Delicious! restaurant, which during the past few years has become widely popular and renowned. Suddenly, the police surround the building! As it turns out, the corrupt owners of SherriSoda are involved in numerous financial frauds and have been secretly increasing the debt of each entrepreneur working in SherriSoda. The building is thus closed and about to be auctioned, to pay back the millions of debt. The honest owner of CSD restaurant lands out on the streets. He is angry, yet determined and in his mind, he draws a plan to rebuild his restaurant.
In Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! for PC, a player assumes the role of a small bistro owner located on the 50th floor of Teragon Supertower. Initially, the venue looks more like a fast-food booth than a real restaurant. Cheap decorations and serving burgers with fries on the side might quickly evolve into preparing exclusive dishes served with elaborate wines on stylish tables. All this depends on one's business acumen and the ability to be a manager, a cook, a cleaner, and a cashier – all in one.
On an average day, a player has to handle literally everything. Before opening, one has to come up with the menu, while during the day, accept orders, clean, and cook – all in the form of QTEs, which have to be executed within a predefined limit of time. The income can be spent on paying the bills and buying new ingredients – the excess money can be invested in better kitchen utensils and prettier decorations.
The better one handles his business, the larger tips the customers are going to leave. The key to success lied in avoiding any mistakes and preparing the menu in a way satisfying as many customers as possible – a player has to pay attention to weather conditions, parts of the day and other random factors, which might either attract the customers or scare them off.
